Daxter was walking around camp. Her striking orange hair glowed in the direct sunlight. She was carrying around her satchel. It was full of pencils, her sketch books, notebooks, her laptop(Demi-God safe), and her sun glasses. Daxter hated her hair. It was so straight and yet so orange. It was striking to some people. She just plain hated it. It was bland so she always wanted to dye it, but her friends told her not to. She had enough friends. She really didn't like to make that many. Daxter was that shy type that really didn't like talking to strangers. So she stuck to what friends she had and called that enough. Daxter had detailed instructions on how to build the best weapons. They took her a while to figure out all the modifications that would best fit it. She always got confused and listened to her iPod. It was her love. Her father got it for her at her last birthday and she had cherished it since he had died. Daxter had cried for him for at least a week. Then she kinda got over it. She had kinda of a crush on the taller more stronger men of the camp. But she had yet to figure out who she really loved. It would take a little time. But she thought it would be worth it. Daxter found a nice shady tree and sat down below it. Dax pulled out one of her sketch books labed 'Detailed'. She flipped through her drawings of her favorite actors.(Taylor Lautner mostly) She hummed while she flipped through them and came to a blank page. She looked around for something detailed to draw and saw a tall tree that had many birds nesting on it. Dax set onto drawing that and got distracted by the thought of evil unicorns and drew them instead. She then got bored and drew some people Jell-O wrestling.
Dax soon got bored of drawing and she put away her sketch book. She then pulled out her idea book and opened to another blank page. She drew a detailed picture of a harpoon that was super light weight. It had the power to change into a sword. It had a hidden poison compartment on the side that flowed through it and delivered a deadly punch. The poison would kill in a few minutes. And would leave the target immobile. Dax smiled and looked up from her notebook and scanned camp. Admiring the beauty of it all.

Jaxon and Kaelea sat by the bonfire, laughing about nothing. Jaxon had his arm wrapped around Kaelea's shoulders like always. They were never seen even five feet from each other, even for showering. Kaelea nestled under Jaxon's arm and looked out across camp. "There are so many red heads here, Jax. It's strange." she said, with her heavy southern accent. Jaxon nodded and gave a sly smile. "Must be carrot season." he said. Kaelea laughed and Jaxon laughed with her. Such strange kids they were called. Probably because of their relationship. Everyone said they were dating but they were siblings.

Daxter hummed and got up. She walked around camp a little. She put her notebook back into her satchel and walked to her cabin. She set her bag down on her bed and looked through her things. She found an old crumpled up picture and straightened it out. It was a picture of her and her father. Daxter was five in the picture. She was sitting on her dad's shoulders and he was grinning. She was laughing, holding onto his neck. Dax sat on her bed and stared at the picture. Dax felt tears creep to her eyes and her nose start to run from the sadness that was welling up in her heart. She would never forget her father. Dax turned the card over. She wrote, 'I love you daddy.' She folded the picture in half and stuffed it in her jeans pocket. Dax found a box full of tissues and blew her nose and wiped her eyes. She redid her makeup, which wasn't a lot. Dax walked out of the cabin and looked around the camp. Her heart was weighed down by dread and she knew she was not going to have fun for the rest of the day. She sniffled once more and walked to the bonfire. She sat down on a log and pulled out her sketch book. Dax drew the first picture of her dad she did in a year. She cried as she did it. Tears dribbled onto the white paper and soaked into it. Her pencil broke through the wet part of the paper. Dax put the sketch book off to the side. She put her hand over her mouth and tried to calm down.

Kaelea and Jaxon were still talking and laughing when she sat near them. Both of the had one headphone in their ear which was hooked to Jaxon's demigod-safe iPod. They changed their discussion to a "who's hot, who's not" conversation. "Mindy, Dustin, Sotiris, and Daxter are the only people I know of who are still single." Jaxon said. Kaelea groaned and dropped her head onto Jaxon's shoulder. "Not including us. I can honestly say none of them are exactly 'eye candy' especially not Mindy. She's just flat out creepy." Kaelea said, putting air quotes around "eye candy." "I would go for Sage but he's dead. I feel so bad for his little sister." Jaxon nodded in agreement and looked around.

Daxter could hear their conversation and her sadness turned towards anger. She looked over to the two. She grumbled something rude and stood up. She dusted off her jeans and picked up her sketch book. She walked past them and dropped her her pencil and her pen. Dax didn't notice and kept walking.

"Daxter, you dropped dropped something." Kaelea chimed. She didn't even care if Daxter overheard them. Jaxon chuckled and Kaelea handed him one of his earbuds. Jaxon got up and turned off his iPod. They both went to the dining pavilion and sat down at the Hermes table.

Daxter ignored them and kept walking, the pencil was getting short and the pen was running out of ink. She hoped somebody else found them and kept them.

Kaelea and Jaxon continued their conversation, still laughing and talking while they did so. Many of their siblings joined in on the conversation. Everyone was having a good laugh and a good talk while they ate. Kaelea stopped talking and began listening to the conversation while she ate. Jaxon slung his arm around Kaelea's shoulders and gave her a sideways hug.Kaelea smiled and stood up, tossing her food into the fire. Jaxon watched her walk out of the pavilion and then ran after her. "KAELIE-BERRY! What's wrong?" he shouted after her. Kaelea looked back at him and shrugged, not feeling up to talking anymore.

Daxter was finishing her tear soaked picture of her father. Dax looked at the finished project and got up. She walked over to the bonfire and threw it into the fire and then pulled out the picture of her father and herself. Dax had tears streaming down her face. She held her hand out towards the fire, her arm shaking. She didn't know if she could do it.

Jaxon hugged Kaelea and took her into the woods. Kaelea and Jaxon just stood there, hugging each other in silence. "Do you think they miss us as much as we miss them?" she asked, quietly. Jaxon shook his head. "I'm not sure, Kaelie-Berry." he said. Kaelea sighed and they just continued to stand there, hugging. Crisp autumn air infiltrated their nostrils as the sweet aroma of dying flowers wafted through the breeze. Kaelea closed her eyes as Jaxon began humming Saviour by Black Veil Brides. They both swayed to the melody in a slow dancing fashion. Jaxon leaned down and whispered the lyrics in Kaelea's ear. Kaelea smiled and listened to him, not wanting to leave the embrace.

Daxter pulled the picture back and walked out to the woods. She walked around, dodging trees and staring at the picture of her and her father at the same time. It was no fair. Why did everyone in her family have to die?

Kaelea sang along with Jaxon their voices in harmony. Jaxon did the last verse, screaming and all. Then he started tickling her. Kaelea laughed and tried to get away but he held her tightly while he tickled her. Kaelea pleaded for him to stop but he only pushed her onto the ground and straddled her, tickling her. Kaelea laughed and squirmed under him. "Jaxon! Let me go!" she cried, helplessly between giggles. Jaxon shook his head quickly and pinned her hands above her head with one of his hands. He kept tickling her before finally leaning down and kissing her, lightly. Kaelea kissed him back. "Sorry. I needed that." Jaxon mumbled. Kaelea smiled and pushed him off. They both got up and dusted off their clothes before heading to the lake, hand in hand.

Daxter had ended up at the lake and was sitting on the dock. She sighed and looked around the lake.

Kaelea and Jaxon sat down by the shore, staring out across the glittering blue lake. Jaxon and Kaelea both pondered their relationship. "Do you think we should keep doing this, Jaxy-Bear?" Kaelea asked. "Well, if you want to stop the affair than be my guest, Kaelie-Berry. Just say the two magic words and we'll end it." Jaxon said. Truth be told, Jaxon didn't want to let go of her. He loved being able to hold her in his arms and know that she came to him for everything that mattered. Even though she was four years younger than he was, he wouldn't find a girl like her. That, he was sure of. Kaelea sat there for a moment, thinking. "Is it right for us to be doing this?" she asked, quietly. Jaxon fumbled for an answer and stared out at the horizon with a concentrated look on his face. "According to the laws, no, but if your heart says that it is, no one can stop it." he said. Kaelea and Jaxon both decided to drop the subject and changed to a lighter topic, that awkward conversation dangling above their heads on a thin silver string.
