Darken slept for a few hours before waking up in the middle of the night, breathing heavily. She looked around the room quickly and wiped a few tears off of her cheeks, trying to calm herself down.

Peyton was up and drinking a cup of water in a chair at the corner of the room.

Darken felt her neck for a pulse, but she remembered that she no longer had a beating heart and sighed.

Peyton heard her and looked over in her direction. "Why are you up?" He asked.

Darken went to answer, but only squeaked. She sighed and shook her head a little bit, unable to speak from the scare.

Peyton set his glass down and walked over to her and hugged her, closing his eyes as he sat down beside her.

Darken hugged him back and rested her head against his chest.

Peyton ran his fingers through her hair, gently.

Darken closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths.

Peyton whispered a comforting song to her, the words coming to his head instantly.

Darken blushed a little bit, but listened.

Peyton was singing the song 'Home' by Phillip Phillips.

Darken closed her eyes and listened.

Peyton finished the song and huffed a slight breath, opening his eyes again.

Darken smiled a little bit when he finished and hugged him.
